Camping Dokkum
Camping Dokkum will be closed as of May 1, 2026, due to the redevelopment of the Harddraverspark. Camper and marina guests can use the municipal camper pitches and transient marina in Dokkum.
Camping Dokkum on the Harddraversdijk will be closed as of May 1, 2026. The closure is related to the redevelopment of the Harddraverspark in Dokkum. Over the coming years, this area will be redesigned as an attractive place for sports, recreation, accommodation, and socializing, close to the historic city center. This means that there are currently no camping pitches available for tents, caravans, folding trailers, or hiker’s cabins at Camping Dokkum.
Camper pitches in Dokkum
Are you visiting Dokkum by camper? Then you can make use of the municipal camper pitches along the waterfront, with a view of the windmills ‘Zeldenrust’ and ‘De Hoop’. The camper pitches are managed by the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân. Please note: the number of spots is limited. Dokkum has 10 camper pitches. You are welcome subject to availability. If a spot is free, you can occupy it and pay the mooring fee via the i-Marina QR code on site. The harbour master is available for questions. Dokkum Transient Harbour
Are you arriving in Dokkum by boat? The transient harbour remains accessible. Since January 1, 2026, the harbour of Dokkum has been managed by the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân. The entire city centre serves as a marina. You can moor your boat at most spots. Always follow the harbour master’s instructions. View the current information for marina guests in Dokkum here.
Why is Camping Dokkum closed?
The campsite is part of the redevelopment of the Harddraverspark. The municipality is working on a future-proof design for the area, in which recreation, tourism, sports, green spaces, parking, and a connection to the city center will be accommodated, among other things.
